jonah got a new bike yesterday....not daddy this time!! :) myk went to toys r us and got him a cute little cars bike, while jonah was napping. Lets just say that not only did jonah love his new surprise, daddy did too. it is so fun to see how much myk enjoys spending time with the little guy. jonah is definitely all about daddy too!! jonah can barely reach the pedals and i am pretty sure myk had a sore back today, but it was a lot of fun going on a walk with our little boy riding his bike. oh and lets not forget his cute new helmet too = )

it is so amazing to me that it is already about that time....for the new little man to arrive!! i would have to say that i am physically ready to be done being preggo. as for actually having another baby, well that is a different story. ha! no, i know it will be super awesome. i am just a little nervous about having two kiddos. i guess it is more of how it will be in the beginning that is kind of frightening. i just keep telling my self that it will be all good :) plus "i can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives me strength" Phil 4:13. this verse never leaves my mind, especially when i start worrying!!

so, ollie's bedroom is just about ready, which is exciting. i was having a hard time, at first, imagining another baby being in that room. that is the room jonah has been in until the last couple of months. i wasn't really going to be doing anything to the room and was planning on just using jonah's crib bedding. that has most definitely changed!! there was no way that i could that. every time i walked in the room i thought to myself, this is jonah's room not another childs. silly but i was really having a hard time with that.

here are some pics of the little man's bedroom! i have to give my babe, myk, total props for making some of the cutest letters. he is the one that used the jigsaw, painted and distressed the letters. so, he pretty much rocks and they are perfect :) my parents got us the cute signage too, which i totally love! oooh and the huge rug was a gift from myk's grandparents, such sweet people.

jonah is all about frosty the snowman lately. well, that among many other things. he is always seeing his daddy play guitar and has been into it as well. so, he has been playing his yukalale and has been starting to sing while he is playing. its pretty cute, if i do say so myself :) well, a little repetitive but that voice gets me everytime!!

all myk was doing was dumping the water out of the little container and jonah would not stop laughing. i decided that i should go get the camera and he just kept laughing. he actually got a little angry when we stopped...lol!

summertime travels

one of the many things i love about my man is his spontaneity. myk has always been this way. so he thought it would be fun to go to santa cruz on the 4th of july....he decided this on the 3rd of july! i wasnt really sure if it was going to work out or not. we had my brother staying with us that weekend and we needed to tend to his dog while my parents were out of town. luckily, we got everything figured out and at about 4pm on the 4th we booked a hotel and were out the door by 5pm. it was SO much FUN!!

after being home for just about a week, we were then off to east wenatchee, washington to see some of my family! we visited and stayed with my aunt and uncle. it was soo nice being able to see them and my cousins. one of my cuz's is going to spain for a year in august to be an au-pair, so i just had to spend some quality girl time with her :) we decided instead of heading straight home, we would go to seattle. it is only about 2.5 hrs away and since we already had a 9 hr drive ahead of us....why the heck not!! we took jonah to the woodland zoo and then hit up pike street. it was an action packed day that was a total blast!!

we are now home and so glad to be, but we are so stoked that we were blessed to have been able to have so much fun !! pictures you might ask??!!! oh right...ya about that......oooooops my bad, but i can promise we will have so many awesome memories!!

here are just a couple!

i have been wanting family pictures since last fall, but it has not worked out for many different reasons. well, on mothers day that is something that myk said that we could go ahead and get done. i was super stoked and am so glad that we waited until now to actually do them. it would have been even harder with jones if we would have gotten them done sooner, plus i absolutely love how they turned out!! we used a photographer here in medford. her photography business is alisha chase photographer and she absolutely ROCKS! i would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to get there pics taken and we will be a returning customer for her as well :) thanx babe for the wonderful mothers day gift as well as everything else that you made happen that day.....luv you!

we decided that it was time for us to put our green thumb to the test. today, we went and bought some flowers and the cute hanging basket and pot. we planted the flowers and love having so many in our yard. then we went ahead and planted some herbs and tomatoes. we shall see what happens...but we will hope for the best. if all works out we should have some basil, cilantro, and onions...mmm. it was a lot of fun spending time together and we all helped each other out :)

this last week was so much fun!! we headed to california friday night and got to la at about 330 am....it was such an easy drive. we stayed with myk's aunt and uncle for five nights and then headed up to santa barbara for a night, then off to santa cruz for a night. we had a lot of fun checking out the beach...jonah was not into the sand AT ALL the first time we went, but he warmed up to it. it just took some easing into each time...haha! myk's uncle took myk and i to a dodgers game...they won of course ;) we had a few rough patches with the little guy, but overall it was a great vacation and some good quality family time!!

he is still definitely into bathtime. if we say the word bath he starts running to the bathroom saying bath bath over and over again. jonah has a new fun toy....the swiffer! its pretty cute, but he sure gets angry when he gets it stuck under a piece of furniture!! i guess it just interupts his superb cleaning...haha. seriously, why do we buy kids toys anyway :)

on friday we had such beautiful weather!! we had to get some family time in, since myk just got home from a trip and was leaving again in a couple of days. we went to jacksonville and played at the park and then walked around town. it was a lot of fun seeing how excited jonah was just to be playing outside in the nice weather. however, he was more interested in watching the other kids than actually playing himself, but we had a blast in the sun and looking around in the stores.

we are so blessed! the Lord has really provided for us....what more could we ask for?! jonah is just becoming more and more like a little boy. he is really trying to say different words, learning his colors and animals, and just being an amazing little boy. one of his favorite things to do is go outside...such a boy! he could swing on our porch swing for as long as we would let him. i would say that is one of his favorite things to do right now...well that and get into everything. work is going well for myk and i am actually doing some work for the dr that i use to work for. i would have to say we dont have much of anything to complain about...other than the summer could not get here fast enough!! we are just so thankful for all of our friends and family....who are just amazing!

so much has gone on since i have done this....how do i blog again???! well, to start off our handsome little boy is now TOTALLY walking. he is soo over that whole crawling business. it is so much fun watching him walk around. the bummer part is now he is constantly falling.....over and over and over again. i do have to say that it really isnt as crazy as everyone makes it sound, with him getting into everything now that he is walking everywhere.....yay!! well i guess that is just life for a 1yr old...speaking of he is now 14.5 months old, which is just incredible in itself. oh and yes he is liking the window....silly boy.
we have been just so blessed with having such a wonderful family, great friends, and a wonderful home to come home to!

christmas was busy but a lot of fun. it was nice because we were able to spend quality time with both sides of the family. jonah is at the age where he does not exactly get the whole opening of presents thang, but he sure is into the tissue paper. so i am pretty sure that we are about to open our very own toy store...omg!! seriously having a child who has a birthday near christmas makes for a lot of gifts at once....good grief.

jonah has been such a little cuddler these past couple weeks. it has been the sweetest....did i mention that we both LOVE IT!! yesterday jones went to the dr for his 1yr well baby.... he is about 13 months now, which i cant believe. so he has totally shot up on the charts for his heighth. he is now in the 50% and he was in the 15% last time he was at the dr. as for his weight, the little guy is just under the 5% mark. he is now 29.75 inches tall and weighing in at.....drumroll.....a whopping 18#3oz.

so i dont even know where to begin...i have totally neglected my duties as a blogger!! ooops :) i guess i should first start with the fact that my little baby is no longer a baby....per baby center. apparently the day that your baby turns one they no longer refer to him as a baby, rather he is known as a toddler. this is truly unbelievable!! i cannot believe it but jonah is now one, as of nov 23rd. we had a wonderful birthday party down in medford. i do have to say that i am not into this whole hosting bit...just a little stressful but it all turned out and we had a blast. jonah now has enough toys for 10 kids..lets just say that our car was packed on the way back to bend! we had thanksgiving at our house, which was pretty cool! ohhh and let me add this is my favorite day of the year, and i totally admit to it being because of the fabulous food....yummmmm! i kind of went crazy with the pics...but i had to catch up :)

we had an exciting weekend!! on saturday night we watched jones' little cuz, elijah. eli had a lot to say to jonah when he was using his chair...hehe...and jonah was just taking it all in. then on sunday grandma and papa were in town and we went out to the pumpkin patch. jonah had a good time seeing the animals and the pumpkins! it will be a blast next year when he is walking around and able to do a little more, but we still had a great time.

k, so i have been tagged by one of my many friends named megan...hehe. just to make it clear to everyone i am talking about megan mackeson! so...here i go!

1. my first kiss was in kindergarten by my friend danny agee. he gave me a kiss on the cheek when we were out on the school field. being the responsible one...haha. i decided i should let the principal know about it. so off to the pricipal i went...needless to say we were both talked to about not being "physical" at school.

2. well you may have noticed by my previous entrance... i was a total tattle tale. yes, i was the person that would go and tell on anyone about anything, when i was young. i would even tell on myself, if i thought something that i had done was not the right thang to do....my poor cousins, they got it the worst.

3. i tend to have a little ocd....lol. so i ALWAYS have to lock my car more than once and check that the front door is locked...way to many times. i dont know why that is but especially when myk is out of town i think i check the front door like 3-4 times and the car too...for goodness sakes there is a garage door opener in there. a thief could totally get into my house if i forgot about the car.

4. i have a habit of biting on the inside of my cheek. it used to be nervous habit, but now i think it has just turned into a bad habit all together.

5. when myk and i are sitting down i love to flop my legs over him, its just relaxing. well that and i love my man :) but i drive him crazy because i have this problem. i just cant sit still, so i am constantly moving my legs or shaking my feet...ooops.

6. ok, so i am sure this is a shocker, but my hubby say that i am dramatic. i know it it is totally news to me too :)

7. i skipped the eighth grade. this was not because of my extreme brilliance....haha. no i thought it would be cool to be in high school with my friends. most of my friends were a grade ahead of me and heaven forbid i miss out on freshman year with them.

for some reason jones was totally into playing more than usual today. he brushed his teeth..hehe, then he was giving his monkey a kiss. i love when he is such a happy boy!! well, as you can see jonah considers his sock to be a pretty entertaining toy. it is amazing to me how kids are with toys...and then how excited they become when playing with socks, wooden spoons, bowls...lol!

just thought i would share some pics of jonah and bathtime. he absolutely loves his baths!! yes...he loves post baths also, since he can run around with no clothes. this last pic i just had to add....so jones does not get mad that i put a pic of him with no clothes...hehe. see jonah... you are wearing clothes in the last photo :) actually last week jonah stood up all by himself..for the first time. yay!!! dada was not around to see but jonah did it again this last weekend...just to prove that he could do it again!

jonah now has 5 teeth...they just keep on showin up!!! so he has the 2 bottom and he has 3 upper. hopefully he will get a little break from the pain on new teeth popping up...for a little while anyway. as you can see it looks like jonah is interesting in guitars like his daddy. its pretty cute...myk just lets him act like he is playing them. so often i see jonah in the office...while he is in his walker and he is over at the guitar trying to strum it. he has always enjoyed hearing his daddy play!!

i thought that i would write a little update, since i have become somewhat of a slacker on this whole blog thang...hopefully its just a phase :) jonah now has three teeth, with another two about to break through. i guess when they start coming...they just keep on popping up. he has his two lower front teeth and he has one up top...he has a bit of a snaggle tooth up there, but hopefully the other front tooth with show up here real soon ;) of course we think he looks adorable...but we might just be a little biased. we purchased a walker for jonah and he just zooms around like a pro...it is helpful that we have all wood floors downstairs. it is a lot of fun watching him move around and it is a nice break from holding him all the time...easier to get some things accomplished around the house. i am just amazed that he is already 10 months old. where the heck did the time go?!?! now look at him just workin' away on dada's computer, helping him get his work finished. although it looks like he is chatting on line, if you ask me....hehe!

i've got to tell you this little boy just loves being outside...anytime of day. yes, of course he also enjoys being inside and getting into trouble...amazing how soon these kiddos know when they are getting into something that they should not be. new news....jonah has another tooth that has just popped through. the way i found this out was he was grinding his teeth....the noise was like finger nails on a chalk board. it hurt me when i saw him doing this. i guess myk did this when he was an infant also....like father like son.

jonah jonah....you are so darn handsome! i am just amazed at how in love myk and i are with this little boy. okay, so i took our little guy to the dr on monday...jones will be 9 months on the 23rd, which is totally unbelievable. if you ask me he is getting so big....however in comparison to other little guys his age....not so much. jones weighs a total of 15#'s and 14oz and he is 26.75inches tall. the little guy is only in the 5th percentile for his weight and 15th for his height...but he is perfect if you ask us...and he may be little but to God he's big stuff!!!

so......our little boy has learned a new trick. tonight he was not so into going to sleep, which happens occasionally. i usually let him cry for a while and he falls asleep....however this time when i went to check on the stinker.....he was standing in his crib, screaming, and shaking the railing of the crib. thank goodness we lowered his crib this weekend!!! oh...and yes i did see him, then leave the room to grab the camera...his daddy had to see this!

this was such a great week and weekend!! it started with jonah getting his first tooth on monday....yay...let me tell you it sure it a sharp little thang.....ouch! this last week jonah also really started babbling "bababababa" nonstop...i think that he really likes the sound of his voice and i am not going to argue i think it is absolutely adorable as well :) then on friday our new little nephew Elijah Michael Goergen was born...weighing in at 7lbs 14oz and 20.5 inches long. he is so precious....although jonah was a little concerned when his cuz was crying. on friday jonah also clapped for the first time...which was super cute....of course! then on sunday he waved for the first time...gotta love it. this week was full of excitement!!

camping trip

this past weekend we went on a camping trip to newport with the bakers and johnsons. myk had planned this trip for about 2months and we were super stoked to go! he had every detail organized...including an excel spreadsheet of a color coded food list...so we were obviously quite excited. when us and ryan and megan arrived to newport, it was a gorgeous day...we knew rain was in the forcast...but it totally was not going to stop us. we set camp up, had some hot dogs, and chilled....okay so myk and ryan set up camp :) they are definitely keepers and were so sweet to megan, jonah, and i. by the time the johnsons got there we were off to bed. the next morning it rained until 12...but we did not want this to ruin the trip....that would have been silly since we knew it was going to stop early afternoon. the guys set up a fortress between the bakers and our tent....oh so sweet...so that the water would not get us when entering our tent. they also set up a cool area around the picnic table...basically we were set and could not complain. they were trying to hard to keep everyone happy.... so lets just say that the day ended up being a blast with the following day being GOREGOUS. all and all i can say i know us and the bakers had an awesome time and are already talking about next years trip...thanks for planning this babe!

this morning was so nice!! when i got back from going to the gym and pickin' up a little coffee for myk and i, jonah was so happy to see me. he was playing with his activity center and when he saw me it was all smiles. when i picked him up, he just kept cuddling with me. i didnt enjoy that or anything....haha. doesnt get much better if ya ask me :) ohhh...and yes that is my little guys slober on my right shoulder.

so this weekend my fam came into town. it was so nice, as usual, having them here. they actually watched jonah for myk and i while we went to a rehearsal dinner on friday night. they also watched him saturday afternoon through the evening while we were at a wedding. i was a little nervous because both nights my parents fed him and put him to bed...i am the only one who has done that...until now. well, i dont know why i was nervous....he did great, which is so exciting!!! so my parents headed back yesterday evening, but they left my brother and cousin for the week to hang out with us. so i am stuck with a house full of testosterone....yikes....haha. so we went to the pool today...thanks jane and josh. then we went on a walk this evening...the perfect summer day in my book!

i know i have been a major slacker this month....with updating the blog that is. the only excuse i have is this darn computer. so my computer went kerplunk and myk got me this mac. well, i am not too savvy when it comes to using this device....way different from a "normal" pc, which i am totally genius on...hehe. so i have now figured out this whole uploading the picture thang and all the rest. i am planning on being on top of our blog this coming month. so here are a couple pics of my handsome little boy....oh and myk's toy as well...cant forget that. jonah is growing and changing constantly...it is just amazing. today i put him on his stomach to play with some toys and when i came back he had actually sat up and was playing....i dont even know how he pulled that off, but he sure is getting good at changing positions!!

so tonight was my cousin's high school graduation....she is such an amazing girl!! it was an evening spent in the gymnasium of her school with crowds of proud families...it was a graduation....we all know how they go but i am stoked for my cousin to be movin on to bigger and better things....like central washington university. so we got home from hawaii on tuesday night at 1115....or should i say that is about when we got to the ptown airport. we then had to do all that fun stuff like getting baggage....car...feeding baby...so we arrived in bend at about 345am wed. hawaii was absolutely amazing....well of course it was. we had a lot of fun and are so thankful that myk's parents invited us go shack up with them. i do have to say it is quit different taking a bambino with you on vaca...not as relaxing...but still tons of fun. jonah absolutely loves swimming pools..it was so cute..he is not so sure about that sand stuff. we bought him this little floating device that he sits in and he had a blast!! it was so hard to leave that gorgeous weather...especially with what the weather is like over hear...ya what the heck is up with this weather any way....good grief...isnt it almost june for goodness sake!!
jonah ended the trip with the start of croup..soooo sad!! i took him to the dr on wed and am giving him a steroid to help..so that it does not get any worse...but unfortunately he told me that until it is gone he is contagious....booooo. it was so scary yesterday and this morning...it is terrible watching your little one have a hard time breathing. well hopefully he will get better soon...the good news is it is not getting any worse...keep him in your prayers...thanks!! so my computer is not working very well right now so i cant get any pics uploaded...i will when it is better...for sure!!

pole peddle paddle....a success

sooo...nothing like pushing yourself to the limit and i totally mean LIMIT!!! i did the biking, 22miles from bachelor to downtown, then i ran 10k, and then the final sprint of the day 1/3 mile...pure exhaustion does not even explain what i felt. i do have to say that i am not only total stoked that i can say that i accomplished this but also the fact that amanda and i got 1st in our division....yay!!!! amanda did the snowboarding, crosscountry skiing, and kayaking....way to go girl :) before my final sprint i had about a half an hour break so i went with my mom and jonah to find some shade...it was pure bliss...jonah could not get enough of me. he was all cuddles and smiles...I LOVED IT!
i have to give my mom a special THANK YOU!!! myk was out of town, so she took the time to come over here and watch jonah for me in order for me to be able to complete this race. thank you so much mom!!! i love you so much and cannot thank you enough for your kind heart and love for my little boy. jonah sure does love his nana! :)

yesterday i took jonah to his 4 month well baby checkup...even though he will be 5 months on the 23rd of this month...cant believe it. he now weighs 13 lbs and 2.5 oz.....he is 24.5inches tall....such a big boy. he still has his cold but we are going to tough it out and get better soon!!

jonah is who everyone can thank that we did not have snow showers like the weather man predicted this morning....this is because we played dress up yesterday. dont worry daddy we did not get girly!! we just thought that if we dressed like it was warm weather it might turn out to be a nicer day.....and look....what do ya know!!!!:)

this morning i heard jonah waking up...as usual, but when i walked into his room he was totally sideways in his crib. he had this big smile on his face and he was kicking his feet out of his pj's....silly boy.....adorable way for mommy to wake up!!

today i decided jonah was due for some new entertainment...so we got him this cool baby einstein activity center/jumparoo....and boy is it a hit. okay...so i admit jonah still needs to grow into it...considering his tip toes barely touch the ground but he sure enjoys the new toys to play with and i can make it bounce...for now. oh and might i add...i am super impressed that i got this thang together. could there have been any more pieces?!?!?!? but hey.....yay for new toys!!!!

changes....changes

so, quite a bit has changed in the past week. lets see...first we got rid of both of our cars and decided to have just one to save some mula...a new 4runner. this may be the only time that we can do that since myk is working from home and really does not need another vehicle. that would be the first change to take place...then i decided i really do want to be blonde again. boy, what a process!!!! laura has been awesome and actually just did more highlights today....thanks girl. we are totally getting there but for any of you wanting to drastically change your hair color...patience is key :) so then lets see..oh ya, so myk and ryan baker decided they must have their ducatis....silly boys. so this week they went to portland to pick myk's up then eugene to pick up ryan's bike. they are both on cloud nine....actually even as i write this! yes...myk now has a new toy and did i mention last toy for a very loooooonnnng time. well i am super stoked for him even though motorcycles are not my favorite mode of transportation. Wow!!!! i would have to say that this has been one CrAzY week for the goergens.

yay.....jonah was giggling so much today...of course myk was on a business call so he missed out on the fun but i was able to call nana and she got to hear him giggling over the phone.....awesome. it was soooo cute!!!!!!!!! his personality is really starting to show and i am LOVIN' IT :)

we have truly been blessed with a beautiful little boy, and we could not be happier. the Lord is soooo amazing to us!! today, jonah was dedicated at our church, The Fellowship at Bend. it was awesome and both sets of jonah's grandparents were able to come up and share the special day with us. after church they came to our house and myk cooked up some burgers and his fabulous bbq chicken. i put together a fabulous salad, thanks to miss megan caston's recipe to a yummy dressing. thanks girl!! it was a a wonderful time of fellowship and we could not have asked for more sunshine!!!!

last night jonah was in in kitchen with me and i thought we were having a good time....then he suddenly turned to his "grimlin" face. amazing how quickly this little guy's mood can change...it made for a cute picture, though. although, last night was a record with how long jonah slept....7.5 hrs without waking..yay!!!!! now, i am not going to hold my breathe, but it was really nice to get some solid sleep....maybe he will do it again :)

so i have found that jonah loves to be in the nude...after his bath i like him to have a little tummy time and it is his favorite since he is not wearing any clothes or a diaper. its a lot of fun watching him move his legs like he wants to crawl and holding up his head....but he's still practicing.

since we are down in medford we had to make sure we spent some time with jonahs great papa and grammy....yes my papa and grandma. we had so much fun spending the day with them and then going to lunch another day. they really enjoyed the time with jonah.....oh and me too :)
